![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Blood lust filled it, but the Korpor pushed its hunger aside and continued on, for it had something more important to do than to feed. It paused and listened, and from a distance it heard the soft footfalls of a deer. It paused and caught just a whiff of the boy’s power of numbers and anxiously turned toward the direction where the scent was strongest, following it as easily as a physical trail. The early spring air in the forest was sweet and warm even for so late at night, but it was not the sweetness of the forest the Korpor was interested in. The Korpor glided across the snow-covered ground of the dark forest, making no sound as it moved from tree to tree, sniffing constantly as it progressed toward its goal. ![]()
